Recently I became an uncle. This event should have been a happy moment in my life because I got meet the next generation in my bloodline. But instead it has proved to be a sad and stressful time. First the child was born premature and had Jondus and chapped lips. Which several family members including my sister the mother of the child, mentioned to hospital staff members. So after only two days in the hospital forcefully discharge both my sister and niece. Staff members ignored concerns by sister and family members (including myself) about the child's yellowish skin complication. The following day after being discharge, my father and my sister took the child for the standard post natal check up. My father and my sister waited for hours in the hospital for any doctor to examine the infant. When a doctor finally came to examine the child; he stated that my niece has Jondus and was dehydrated. He immediately rushed the child into the Emergency room for care. After all this, the hospital proceeded to state false allegations of neglect and mentally instability of my sister. This completely false because my family has no history of mental illnesses nor does my sister have any personal history of mental illnesses. The other allegation was neglect. On her part neglect would be an impossible task because she only had the child for 12 hours after they both where discharged. During that 12 hour period; my sister was either with my entire family or in the company of my father. But as a result of these false allegations the child was taken away from her and placed in foster care. In my opinion this an attempt by the hospital to cover up a malpractice the committed on child by passing blame onto the mother rather then accepting responsibility.
